ALK Technologies announced that its highly acclaimed CoPilot® Live™ satellite navigation system is now available for Android-based mobile phones. It can be purchased and downloaded immediately from Android Market for devices such as HTC Magic, HTC Dream and the new HTC Hero.

Journey Dynamics has announced the launch of its driver personalisation technology – MyDrive – which allows satnavs or other navigation devices to learn the way each individual drives. This dramatically improves the accuracy of the estimated journey time, and so removesone of the biggest issues in using satnav devices. The MyDrive version for Western Europe is available immediately and other regions will roll-out later this year.

Navteq announced its selection by Centrl to enable its location-based social network with LocationPoint, a mobile location-based advertising service. Centrl, based in New York City, is a social network that connects users with nearby places and people that match their interests, on smartphone mobile devices and social networking sites.
