GolfLogix New iPhone Golf GPS Application Makes Top 10 List

GolfLogix advanced golf GPS application is now available for Apple’s iPhone 3G and 3GS Smartphones and is already listed in the top 10 most requested sports applications in the iTunes Store. Golfers can download a free trial from iTunes or by clicking on the iPhone download link at www.golfgps.com. With the GolfLogix iPhone golf GPS application golfers get convenient distances to the front, center and back of the greens as well as layups and major hazards on more than 24,000 golf courses worldwide. Plus they have access to GolfLogix patented scoring and round tracking technology. This allows golfers to analyze and compare round data such as fairways hit, greens in regulation, distances of each club and more right on their iPhones or on a personalized website hosted by GolfLogix.

GolfLogix is the first major player in the golf GPS handheld market to offer its application to GPS-enabled cellphones such as the BlackBerry and iPhone Smartphones. In less than a week, the GolfLogix application has climbed up the top 10 most requested sports applications in iTunes. “Our application gives golfers more than a digital scorecard. They get a real picture of their game. It’s like having a personal caddie with you for every round,” states Scott Lambrecht, CEO of GolfLogix, Inc. “Our professionally mapped database of more than 24,000 golf courses that has been customer validated since 1999 is also what sets us apart from the other iPhone golf applications.” The Company brings more than 10 years of golf GPS experience as well as its extensive golf course database to the entire Smartphone community.

GolfLogix is offering a 24-hour free trial that starts when a golfer tees off. Following the free trial, golfers are invited to become a GolfLogix community member for $39.95 per year. GolfLogix Annual Membership includes unlimited access to see distances on more than 24,000 golf courses worldwide, scoring and stat tracking both on a Smartphone and on a personalized statistical website at GolfLogix.com, plus valuable discounts on must-have Smartphone accessories. Members will receive ongoing updates and software feature enhancements. The GolfLogix application is currently available on the iPhone 3G and 3GS as well as the BlackBerry Curve, Bold, Tour and Storm. “We want to give all golfers the ability to turn their GPS-enabled Smartphones into the ultimate GPS rangefinder,” adds Lambrecht.

GolfLogix plans to continue to promote and support its widely popular GPS-8 which is a standalone handheld GPS device manufactured by Garmin that is loaded with GolfLogix software. It allows golfers to see convenient distance measurements on a large, easy-to-read screen. The GPS-8 retails for $299.95, includes one free golf course download and unlimited golf courses worldwide for an annual membership of $29.95. “We realize that there is always going to be a segment of golfers that wants simple distances on a standalone GPS device with no Smartphone capabilities. With our GPS-8, golfers just turn it on and play golf. It’s 100% automatic,” adds Lambrecht. “GolfLogix on GPS-enabled Smartphones allows us to address a new spectrum of golfers that are on-the-go and want an all-in-one device.”

  1. This seems pretty amazing. I’ve been seeing more and more of these golf applications for the iphone and other pieces of tech. The most recent app i saw was designed to help golfers keep track of their strokes so that they’d be tallied up and basically the hard work is done for you.
