NAVTEQ today announced NAVTEQ True, the company’s new mapping collection system. NAVTEQ is beginning the roll out of this new technology in its US fleet of field collection vehicles, further enhancing the company’s ability to deliver a growing range of high quality digital map data.
Vodafone is one of the largest mobile operators in the world, spread out in 25 countries under the Vodafone brand, and partnering with operators in 42 other nations. When they make a decision, it ripples through out the entire industry. Nokia purchased NAVTEQ for over $8 billion with the intention of becoming the world’s best, and largest, provider of maps. That may still be possible, but it isn’t going to be with the help of Vodafone.
